Amilcar Alves is a Brazilian mixed martial artist. He has fought as a welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Known primarily for his extensive background in judo, Alves has also trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the tutelage of Andre Pederneiras.[1] Since turning professional in 2006, Alves has competed for smaller organizations in his native country of Brazil and is a teammate and training partner of current WEC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo at Nova União.
Alves made his North American, as well as UFC debut against Mike Pierce on August 28, 2010 at UFC 118.[2] He lost the fight via submission in the third round.
Alves faced Charlie Brenneman on January 22, 2011 at UFC Fight Night 23.[3] He lost the fight via unanimous decision. He has been released by the UFC after going 0-2 in the promotion. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/fanshots
